This and That

Who knew that it was Groundhog Day.
Apparently I was too busy
crafting and blogging to know whats happening
in the real world.

I had the day off today so I decided to work on a craft project
I started last week.

I had hit the "After Christmas Sales" and picked up several
boxes of Christmas balls for 80% off.

A few years ago I had decoupaged some with music paper
and absolutely loved them.
Because burlap is so popular
I thought I'd try my luck with that.
It was way too hard to work with so
I gave it up.

Then I decided to try brown craft paper and origami
paper that I had on hand.
My vision is... a gardening theme tree for next year.
I'm thinking anything garden related or
nature themed.

Here are a couple of my finished ornaments.
Brown paper was applied in little pieces with
Mod Podge, I added some bird motifs
from an outdated calendar.

I'm pleased with these two. I experimented with
some fabric pieces as well, but I need to play
with them a little more.
The brown craft paper definitely
worked the best for what I
have in mind.
Very organic.

Here is one more thing brown craft paper is good for.
