RUNNERS, VINES & CLIMBERS

Early this Spring I purchased three packs of seeds
from "Renee's Garden".

They were all things that I had never tried before,
so it was an adventure waiting to
see what would happen.

The one I would buy again is this
Cardinal Climber.
I planted it around my hummingbird feeder
and have liked the effect.

Another pack I picked up was this
Painted Lady.
Not as many blooms as I would have liked,
but a very delicate flower
all the same.

Take a look at the pods the
Painted Lady has produced!

The third one is this Maiden's Feather Vine.
It has not yet bloomed
and I am awaiting with excitement.
I had no idea when I planted them that
none would bloom before August.
It has been quite a treat to have
such late bloomers.

I also have a Hyacinth Bean plant
that is doing its own thing.

My purple Clematis has recently had
a second blooming burst.

The last thing I want to show you is not a climber
but the blooms on my asters are in full force
so I wanted to show them off.

Happy Gardening everyone!

  1. Gorgeous - It is fun to get flowers you aren't familiar with and see how they turn out. Your asters are beautiful. xo Diana

  2. Beautiful plants! Some of them grow in Kazakhstan, at my parents' dacha. Like the one called Painted Lady and those asters. They blossom over there same time and called Sentyabrina (derived from the month of September when they always blossom).
    Happy gardening to you too!

  4. Oh, I loved your post! Vines are just one of my favorite parts of summer! How fun to buy seeds to vines you've never grown - I'm going to check back and see if you post a photo of the yet-unknown bloom.
