FOREVER IRISH

I'm getting ready to list my latest
up-cycled sweater wreath
to my etsy shop
Nanniepannie

Just in time for St. Patrick's Day,
but not just for...
I call it "Forever Irish".

It started as a rescued sweater
from my local Salvation Army store.
An Old Navy brand
made of wool and cotton.
The color first caught my eye,
then I saw the beautiful cable work.
Had to have it!

This is the first time I've tried my hand
at a Celtic Knot.
I think it turned out well, although
I did choose the simplest one.

Please visit my etsy shop here

and all my other up-cycled sweater wreaths.

IT'S JUST FOR ME

I've been creating up-cycled sweater wreaths for my
etsy shop for some time now,
I've decided to make something
just for me.

My favorites are the
white on white.

So I decided to do four mini wreaths
and frame them
for my bedroom wall.

I found some scrip scrapbook paper
at Hobby Lobby
that was perfect to back them with.

I'm very pleased at how they
turned out.
Each one different,

but together, a very cohesive grouping.

They are all very representative of what I do.
I love the sweaters I find that
have beautiful cable work.

If you like what you see
please visit my etsy shop here.

The lighting is not the greatest
but here they are on my
bedroom wall.

Thanks for visiting.

THIRTY FIVE DAYS UNTIL SHOW TIME

It's is hard to believe it has almost been a year since our last Holiday Fiber Arts Show.  Yes, it has, and in fact we only have 35 days left to prepare.  I've been hard at work crafting and creating.  Some of my ideas have already gone by the way side and others have taken flight.

I've been making wreaths.
I'm using up-cycled sweaters,
both wool and cotton.

It's so much fun creating flowers
out of the sleeve and necks.

Here's one I actually used the
sleeves of the sweater
for the base
then created the flowers
out of the neckband and scraps.
Added the burlap and red
floral for contrast.

This one was fun,
it's made from an old army jacket
I found at the Goodwill.

Camo is so big right now...

I couldn't resist.

I call this one
Cottage By The Sea.
A winter wreath for your
beach cottage,
if you are so lucky
to have one.
I WISH!

I've got more to show you,
but that's another post.
Have a great day.

EARLY START

I can't believe I haven't posted since last Tuesday!
After the garden tour, I kind of ran out of steam.
Now I'm thinking ahead to Christmas...
I know, go ahead and shoot me.

We do a Holiday Sale in November
and I have to
start thinking about what I'm going to
make and sell.
I usually do some kind of wreaths.
Last year I was very inspired
with all the burlap wreaths I saw
out there in blogland.
I'm starting to work
on a few ideas.

At the end of the season last year I bought up a bunch of
silver balls that I will incorporate into
this years wares.

I thought myself very clever when I purchase this bolt of
burlap at the local garden and feed shop.
It was a fraction of what I would have paid at
the fabric shop.
$16.99 for a 3' X 48' roll.

I've been making origami cranes all Summer.
I'm planning on doing several things with them.

I'm all about mixing unexpected things together.

My sister said...interesting.
I like it!

The next two are simple
and easy.
The picture doesn't do it justice
but the bright pink poke a dot ribbon
just makes you smile.

So that's what I've been up to.

Have a great day and
Happy Crafting!

CATS...CATS...AND MORE CATS!

Tired and lifeless after being crammed into a box and planted in
the basement for almost a year.

Now given new life and hopefully a new home.

Wreath number one.

I've been spending lots of time making holiday wreaths.

This one consist mostly of wooden and resin ornaments.

For as long as I can remember
I've been collecting cat ornaments.
I've put up at least one cat tree every year
for the past twenty years
with the exception of the last two years.

Lately I've been on to birds
and my taste has changed a little.
My big dilemma has been what to do
with all those cat ornaments.
Last year I tried my luck and designing some
holiday wreaths and selling them at our
Holiday Show and Sale.
I did okay,
so I thought why not use some of my cat ornaments
this year.

Wreath number two.

This one is compiled of some of my plush ornaments

I just overlapped them and went to town with the hot glue gun.

There are some really cute ones.

Wreath number three.

These are all really sweet ornaments, and yes I hate to let
them go. I figure the only people that will buy them are
cat lovers too so I can say goodbye knowing they
are going to good homes.

I'm definitely holding on to my absolute favorites,

I still use them
throughout my space.

Think about all those ornaments in your

basement or attic
that are not quite as special as before.
Create something.
You may want to keep it or give it away.
